PEDALING PEDDLERS!
With a career in sales and marketing, I have written a book about how to sell something to somebody.  I found that the challenges of cycling and selling have several similarities, so you will find a number of analogies throughout my book – a bonus for cyclists who could also enhance their selling skills.

If you haven't guessed already, I am an avid recreational cyclist with a thing about making designs for tee shirts. My ride is a 27-speed Cannondale, Ksyrium rims and a Dura-Ace group.  It gets me where I want to pedal - about 4,000 miles each season...........

Having lived in the Finger Lakes region of New York State for over twenty years, I love what the area has to offer. It has fabulous roads for cycling, lots of wineries, plenty of B&B's, friendly people and a bunch of  "Finger Lakes," each of which presents an opportunity to ride around! Members of my club have enjoyed the Ten Lake Challenge, which is to ride around each lake in one season (remember, we have winter here!)

If you've been here, or are planning a visit to the Finger Lakes, consider this annual cycling event in my back yard - the Highlander Cycle Tour - it includes a tour for beginners as well as a gut wrenching century with over 10,000 feet of climbing for those who enjoy pain - 12% to 22% grades will satisfy all of your climbing urges, I assure you.

Should you ever need guidance about pedaling in the Finger Lakes region, feel free to email me at gringearstuff@gmail.com and I, or one of my buddies in our close knit bike club, TNMC, will be pleased to help you.  Or, get a great book our club updated with lots of rides throughout the Finger Lakes region.

Safe pedaling, Pete
Here I am at 6'288 feet of elevation, having just finished my first attempt at the brutal yearly
Mt. Washington Auto Road Bicycle Hillclimb in New Hampshire - it was a gorgeous day as opposed to the following year that had 60 MPH gusts and fifty foot visibility towards the top.  My buddy Jeff was even blown off his bike, literally! The 7.6 miles, average 12% grade, with an extended 18% grade is topped off with a "welcoming" 22% final fifty yards.  Try it sometime!
